Manos de Amor

Manos de Amor is a Guatemalan group from a big church in the city. They do mission trips to help their people.Friday night the church of God did worship in the park and then a pastor from Chimaltenango (it's a big town about 30 minutes out of the city) preached a really good message. It was really loud so everyone in town heard it, which was good. The little hotel in town didn't have room for 30 people so we put some mattresses down in some rooms and got it ready for them. They then got in at 12:20 making it 12 hours of driving for them. They had a bus and the roads here weren't a great combination! The next morning the Allison's gave up their rooms in the clinic and spent the day in the house so there could be more room for them. That was really nice of them I don't know if I could have done that. The day immediately started after breakfast, setting up and getting things in line. We set up 4 doctors and nurses in the first to rooms then a psychiatrist in the next room. Then we put up some curtains and made a dentists office in the living room. The Pharmacy was under the canopy and the rest of them were assistants and helpers wherever they could be. A few of them did activities with the kids waiting.Us in the house helped with the kids and helped Manos de Amor with anything we could. We have a lady that made a lot of Guatemalan food for them and they took shifts for lunch. The day went on and around 5 we set up the volley ball net in the yard and played till dark. Then finally around 7:30-8:00 they finally finished! We mopped and cleaned and put the clinic back in order, and then they gathered around us and prayed. They were all really cool people. We never heard one complaint and they were so happy to be there and to help us serve their people. The next morning they left. They were Awesome.

The Bells! Matt and Isaac came at around 10. Isaac is sooo big!!! He is so cute and he talks but he never really talks he just sings his words. He didn't like me but then he liked me after I had the Gato.Heidi flew in and Dad went to pick her up from the city. They stayed and left after clinic on Sunday. It was really good to see them.

I am sorry I don't have pictures of Manos de Amor. I would have taken some but it makes me feel like a tourist. They left a ton of garbage bags full of donations like rubber boots and clothes. I have some pictures of them dropping the bags off at a pastor in towns house.
