Unilla

On Thursday morning we were all ready to go and Rudolfo (head of unilla) called at 7 and said the skies are clear so dad to the first trip out.We landed on a long path they call an airstrip and as soon as we opened the doors of the airplane there were people everywhere. The Men and boys gathered around the plane while the women stood hiding in the shelter of the woods. We walked a short distance from the airstrip and got to the centro where we would be doing clinics. As soon as we set up we prayed with the people then prayed together. Then we started clinic. We had the teachers of the school translate for us. They would teach all week leave on Friday and get to their homes 7 hours later. Since there are no roads it is all by foot. They have Saturday at home then return on Sunday. We did clinic until about 12 then they took us to one of the many thatch roofed huts and we had caldo de pollo with of course tortillas. Then we worshiped and went back to work.Dad did the eyeglasses and then it started to rain. It calmed down a bit and then Dad left to spend the night here with Grace and Abi. Then we finished for the day and we set up the projector but we had forgotten a cord. So Arlen stayed with the medicine and Craig rigged up the projector while Don, Mom, Katie, and I went to the creek to cool off.The water was nice and refreshing and we saw a baby turtle! We got back and they served us Beans and Rice for supper, then Craig had it all set up and was starting the generator when the rope to start it broke. So we ate some good bread Lori made and then went to sleep. The sleeping part wasn't that simple the concrete was kinda hard. It started to rain early in the morning they said that this was normal and that it being clear so early was rare.So Craig played some Spanish songs while people trickled in with the rain.We did clinic until midday and it being Friday our translators started their 7 hour walk home. Then we were done just like that we had seen all who dared to come. Sadly many who were sick didn't come when they needed it. So we packed up and looked for a blue patch in the clouded sky. When a little one cleared up at around 12 we called Dad and he picked up the first load and took us home. By the time he picked up the second load it was clear. We were pretty glad to be back. Okay I took a ton of pictures so here are a few.

Tums!
